did the 90's blow?
« on: December 20, 2010, 07:18:43 PM »
I was just leafing through a box of 45's and I spotted a copy of Sinker "Thoughts on Beauty" and I thought to myself that I have a fair number of records that I don't give a shit about that were given to me of this nature.

I didn't listen to the record to hear whether it actually specifically sucked but I was thinking there really was an enormous of non Punk or experimental independent releases that is just shit and isn't worth a penny. I've even seen a few stores with used bins just for that stuff.

Is it worth trying to trade or sell any of this kind of stuff?

When all of the CDs no longer play are we actually going to have to remember a huge part of that decade's indy output as lame?

(ED: I did toss on the Sinker, it's fine)

Wait! You determine that the 90s were alright via a Sinker 7"? Ha!

I fucked a lot,got a a lot of blow jobs behind a church, fought a bunch of people, got my face busted open, cops chased me, tried to burn down a refinery, beat up roller bladers, beat up band members, punched a teacher, set shit on fire, bleached the Highschool football field, leveled a house, stole keys to  some heavy equipment and tore a road apart, was shot at, got stabbed, stabbed a kid through the hand with a pen, did whiskey/ slurpee enemas, robbed gang members, was robbed, took on 5 dudes and got beat up, broke car windows with cinder blocks for being called "weezer", banged chicks older then I was at the time (a lot older), skate boarded to Hstreet/planb videos then gave it up when everyone became a wigger/ gangmember, learned to play guitar, got fired from a job for telling some slut I'd kill her, slept with half of the cheerleaders and their sisters, worked at Dairy Queen after working construction where I thought it was more fun to throw the shingles of 50lbs off the roof, drove a 81 camero around and ran things over, stuffed rattle snakes I caught into mail boxes.....

Oh yeah I saw a bunch of pussy punk bands most of none I could relate to at all and didn't apply to the life I lived at the time...

The 90's were fun to me, late 90's kinda slumped when I became increasingly paranoid and never left the house for a while...Still good times. Musically who care's what's the background noise to me trying to burn down your stupid house party backyard rave ( did anyone else have this shit going on???)
