Derek Duncan: the hardest working man in music?
« on: January 26, 2011, 09:16:55 AM »
If you don't already know -
Derek Duncan aka Derek Lyn Plastic might be the hardest working, most under-appreciated man in the "termbo scene".

I got an email from him last week saying he has THREE NEW 7"'s out!!!

One is his band the Step Dads (on P.Trash Records), one is his other band The Magnums and a new Derek Lyn Plastic 7" (both on his NMG Worldwide label)!

This latest series of releases quickly follows his ambitious efforts: The Smell Of My Room Volumes 1, 2 and 3, a collective OOP singles disc, the "Life And Death"  7" EP on Certified PR, the debut 7" records by The Step Dads and The Magmums and a few I'm probably forgetting.... ALL IN LESS THAN A YEAR!!!

Granted I don't like EVERY song he's done, I've never gotten that "hurry up and record every good or bad idea" feeling from his stuff.

This dude records all sorts of demos and variations for just about every song he writes and actually (most times) improves their structure, making them real songs, with real thought out parts.

He also does some pretty wicked videos..... http://www.youtube.com/user/nastydunx

You can get some of his releases at: www.certifiedprrecords.c om ... I should have his new batch of stuff available soon!
NEW:
CPR020 Ramma Lamma X-mas 7"
CPR021 THE ONIONS "Alien Astronaut" 7"
