i guess what i find annoying is that shitty mainstream music writers are always trying to connect ANYONE to punk or hardcore in a pitiful attempt to lend said artist some sort of 'underground' cred or legitimacy. NOT EVERYTHING COOL HAS TO BE PUNK. i want to smash that statement into their faces. it's always 'so and so got their start playing in punk bands back in high school.' awesome, so that shitty blink-182 [or screeching weasel or whatever] wannabe band you were in gives you some sort of credibility as you serenade us with whatever shit band yr in now. who cares if you were in a hardcore band when you play pop-country now, or whatever. if yr pop-country is good, i don't care if you were in a hardcore band. if yr shit sucks, then knowing that you were in a hardcore band [even a good one] doesn't make yr shit any better.

this irritates me too.

I'm trying to take Erick's mind off of Titus Andronicus and put it back where it belongs, on LABRADFORD.

YOU WIN, COCHISE. I'M OUT OF BANDS THAT BEGIN WITH X. WE SHOULD START A BAND CALLED "ACETONE WASH"

That's their only punk cred.

Butchie, I'm disappointed in you.
