Britney Spears
« on: October 03, 2011, 05:57:55 AM »
So I've been working to the radio, listening to some normal teen radio station, bizarrely every 4 OR 5 song was either 'I wanna go' or 'I'm in love with a criminal' by Britney Spears. That's a lot of Britney Spears, in 'I wanna go' she sort of whoops at the end of her phrase in the pre-chorus this gets me thinking of the Oh Sees who whoop a lot themselves. Then on 'I'm in love with a criminal' a solo by a flute and this gets me thinking of the Oh sees aswell.Maybe they've been writing songs for her and I stonely checked on internet ,no it's a swedish guy called Max Martin and a guy called Shellfish or shellshocked or something, they are professional hit makers kate perry .pink...etc,however maybe just maybe someone in their hitfactory could have been inspired the Oh sees.
I  these 2 songs by the way.

I usually listen to cheesy top 40 radio when I'm driving to/from work and school... Most of it borders on un-listenable, but there are definitely a few awesome guilty pleasures. Britney Spears is alright with me.

Although seriously, I never would have in a million years thought to compare her to Thee Oh Sees. I've probably heard way more Britney songs than Oh Sees songs...

Huh, I thought Everybody liked the Oh Sees. I have yet to understand how this band is so popular. I read on here that "Help" is supposedly their 'best' album... Listened to 3 songs on Youtube... Awful stuff. Also never seen 'em live which I also hear everybody say they are "AMAAAAZING". Just sounds like an echoey racket.

definitely not EVERYBODY likes them.  there are threads on here that go on for pages, people arguing their merits or saying they suck. whatever. general feeling from people who know, they're great live and their records are boring.
it's all bullshit, and it's bad for ya.

I will say that they are great live for sure, well when i saw them they were... but their records are mostly boring, couple of good song here and there but that's it for me.

The Oh Sees are boring live too.  Have they written even one memorable song?

i used to listen to this song all the time,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWUXpOzckNU

so it is pretty memorable to me.  the guitar tone is awesome and i like the ba-ba-bas and the line "any job will leave you broke, every house is not a home"

it doesnt matter though because any thee oh sees song is better than any britney song.  her voice is fuckin horrible.
