we played with them last night in charlottesville and let me say this: although their recordings never really stuck with me their live show was UN-FUCKING-BELIEVABLE. they blew everyone away. this is not a band to miss. really, holy shit.

Me and Erin were one of 5 people at the Cleveland show since everyone else went to the 911 show to throw bowling balls at eachother.

Those dudes were super stoked and appreciative that we came to see THEM.

And Matthew and Hideo are great dudes all around.

More people need to check 'em out.

Agreed that these guys are great!  Really quite soft spoken guys who just explode when they hit the stage!  And the drummer is one of the best I have ever seen!  Amazing!

The songs on myspace didn't do much for me, but on a stage I'd imagine they totally kill. Never seen Lightning Bolt, who's records leaves me cold, but I'm sure they're an excellent live act.

Ligtning Bolt are one of the 3 best live bands I,ve ever seen. Up there w Dead Moon n Black Lips.

What shit? If you haven't seen the Birthday Suits, you shouldn't comment. The drummer is definitely "mind blowing," and they don't sound like anyone else out there.

The duo format (guitar/bass + drums) isn't anything new or weird. There's tons of great bands with this configuration. I'd list them, but I am lazy. Haven't heard Birthday Suits, but they can't be any worse than Lightning Bolt. Shit, I mean, wait, what?

Lightning Bolt took on the Boredoms and it ended in a draw. If only the drummer would hit harder.
