Sir Dance Alot and his Dancing Romancing Pranceteers
« on: September 22, 2006, 09:38:11 AM »
I found the split 12" with them and the mangazoids in a cut out bin in Tokyo for 3 bucks a few months ago.
My friend Ricky said "You can't pass that up, its the most retarded thing ever."
And he was right...
Totally retarded! Fun stuff.

All I know about this is its one of Mike Lucas' bands and it came out on his label.
Did they do anything else? Or was it just another goofy one-off?

I imagine it was a one-off though denkinger will know for sure.

I saw Sir Dance Alot open for Guitar Wolf and it was painful. Funny but only because of the absolute relentlessness and stupidity (and that Lucas was able to worm his way onto the bill).  And it was exactly what you would guess: Frat rocky with Lucas doing idiotic dances for "much too long."

The Mangezoids are from Argentina and have a big following down there, actually. They are sort of their homegrown '60's garage-type band' that has garnered a national rep of some small reknown.

Lucas' 'tossoff' of his split LP live is in keeping with the 'tossoff' nature of the project itself.

You guys are all too super cereal. It was Neil Hamburger rendered in the form...of DANCE!

The only cool thing Mike Lucas has done is Repent Records, all his bands are not good...Phantom Surfers included.

Ok, the Execs were ok, but still for as much notoriety as the guy gets, he really hasn't done that many cool projects.

Unless you like shit like Highlander Twos..

I actually own a copy of The Junior Executives record (sent to me by Mr. Lucas himself) and I gotta say, even that isn't that great. Then again the guy never set himself up to be Mr. Cool, more like Mr. Annoying Inside Joke. I dig him.
