Back in college, someone stole 3 tapes from me - some crappy Doors thing & 2 Gibson Bros albums. I haven't seen the GB albums anywhere since (the Workdogs collab & some other record). I remember really liking both (and thinking "Memphis Sol" was pretty weak in comparison), but it's been years.

One of my favorite bands. The "Columbus Soul 85" LP that In The Red put out gets some serious action around my neck of the woods. Well worth the purchase just to hear their cover of "Rubber Room" by Porter Wagoner.

Carefully, now - thinking "Memphis Sol" was pretty weak in comparison to the others I'd had. It's good stuff, I just like the more raw loose-limbed shit. That goes for just about everything. You don't wanna be blood bros with me anyway, I've got the HIV!

Two - kind of.

There is a Black soul band call the Gibson Brothers who are shitty.

There is this one who goes by Gibson Bros. to avoid confussion.

Back when Big Pine Boogie came out it took three trips to the record store to get them to order the right Gibson Brothers record.

Well I was looking for the Gibson Bros. on YouTube this afternoon and I came across a bluegrass one doing a Ray Charles song.
