Quintron & Miss Pussycat

I'm only familar with Mr. Quintron and his work on that old excellent Oblivians record. What can I expect?

It sounds pretty colorful, but is it really a MUST-SEE show? There's another great gig in another part of town, so...

I think it's a must-see.  There's nothing like Quintron & Miss Pussycat and it's a pretty unique experience.  As far as 'what to expect' maybe you should go in with no expectations; that way you won't be disappointed and may also be surprised.

DEFINITELY a must-see show! They are both excellent performers in the true sense of the word - along with the music, their costumes, sets, sounds, lights and moves are great. Their show up here a few years ago still ranks as one of the best I've ever seen. There's nothing else like it.

And there will be tons of pretty girls shaking it, trust me.

If you like surreal puppetry and you like to dance, it is a must-see show for sure. I enjoy those things, so Q&MP are great in my book, although it's been years since I've really enjoyed a Quintron record. The Bulb stuff was cryptic, but the later stuff is a little too polished and dancey, but all the songs from the new record sound perfectly great when performed live.

That "Are You Ready for an Organ Solo?" picture disc is the ultimate party record, due in part to its polished-dancey-ness.

Quintron is really one of the original bands from the chicago now-wave scene that is still around and doing well.  I mean galen, scissor girls, math, duotron, lake of dracula, couch, and bride of no no are all done.  I guess flying luttenbachers are still kicking but i never really dug them.  the last time i saw Quintron was at the fireside a long time ago and haven't seem him since.  but the days at the milk of burgundy and czar bar were amazing!  you will most likely have a great time!

don't forget to check out flossie and the unicorns!! (miss pussycat's band) her records are more novelty than anything though

I saw Quintron and Miss Pussycat open for the Cramps once.  They were great.  Now imagine the kind of audience that appreciates the Cramps, and imagine how great it was to watch them watch Quintron and Miss Pussycat.

yea but its all different.  i mean jenny and carbon are really only making similar music with metalux.  i mean azita's stuff is totally different and i don't know what's up with pete larson and aaron dilloway at all.  25 suaves hasn't played in awhile so and bulb isn't running or is it?  And dilloway left wolf eyes to concentrate on his label and other solo shit.

jim is still rocking though, his new album is good.  he is expecting his first child this weekend.

Also, good chance Quintron will be skulking around in disguise before he plays. Try to spot him.

The last album 'Swamp Tech' is amazing... comes with a DVD that includes Ernie K Doe puppets, music videos, and girls eating cake in slow motion backwards. Acid not included.

Thanks for the tips, it was amazing; absurd hilarious puppetshow and the music...like a deranged mix of B-52s, Suicide and Little Richard!
