It sounds really really well produced... in a very good way. I think I'm gonna spit one out now. Excuse me.

Y'know Jay, as far as my asshole goes, I'm sorry that my wiping standards aren't quite up to what they should be these days.

Seriously, though, about my opinion, if someone told me that they didn't like one out of ten records that I made I don't think it would make much difference.  Especially if I were trying to front like I were some hard-ass-fall-off-the-stage/don't-care/in-your-face-punk-rocker.  This is the first record you've done that I haven't liked and, again, maybe I'm just not in the mood for it right now.  Lately I've been listening to a lot of Them, Hue Blanc's Joyless Ones, Greg Cartwright-related anything, and sad-bastard shit like Townes Van Zandt and Sarah Vaughan.  I'll come back to it later and probably dig it.  Right now it grates on me.

Oh, and Mike, to answer your question of "why did I buy it?"  I bought it because a.) I like the "Hammer I Miss You" single.  b.) I trust In The Red.  c.) again, I've liked everything else Jay's done and d.) I'd read good reviews written by reviewers whose opinions I (mostly) trust.

Yeah, well, I dunno. I kinda just blurted that shit out because, even if you don't like the record, and I really do, I can't see why anyone would think it's a piece of shit. That's a pretty bold statement, I feel like it's really far from that.

Never did anyone on here, myself included, describe it as "a piece of shit."  I was pretty critical of it and said that I did not like it but "piece of shit" was not one of those things.  Just settin' the record straight, that's all.

i haven't been able to stop listening to terror vissions record since i first heard it in april!  i'm just glad that now i can play it/tape it off for other people.  good job jay.  i don't even need to hear the new river city tanlines to know that it can't even compare.

i still haven't heard the new kk & bbq album...i'm thinking i'll like it though.....they'll be here next week so i'm just gonna wait until then.....

the RCT album is almost as good as the jay reatard record. it's also killer but in a different way, like a more rock version of the avengers or something like that. the song "lookin for a line" is incredible, and "i'm your negative" and a lot more. Black Sunday are pssss, but RCT are great

I might have called it that. Or I might have called it a turd. Can't remember.

Its not a competition !!! Both records will appeal to certain people and both won't to others....

No fancy tricks no fancy editing ... Just a guitar player who plays drums and bass and sings .. You know simple stuff...I think they call it Punk Rock ???

i usually don't give props to newer releases that often because they need to stand the "test of time" as cliche as it sounds for me to do so.  i finally purchased a copy of "blood visions" past week, and finally was able to sit down and listen to it all the way through.  i haven't been blindsinded by something so good in a long long time.  great album!

Shut the fuck up everybody. It's a record. It fucking is what it is. Some people will dig, some won't. It's all totally fucking pointless and worthless in the end and who gives a flying fuck if it holds up ten or twenty years from now. Is it really honestly even worth all this damn Europe vs. US fucking humdrum? No! Lame and fucking lamer. I do like the Jay Reatard record, but I honestly think the guy was at his best as a teenager. Just my opinion. Does it matter? Is it worth even discussing or arguing about? No.

For the last time: there is no Europe vs USA going on here. Jay is a big popstar of a man in Holland now. Seems all the professional indie journalists who never heard of him before like his record. I don't know about other countries, but why would any European country see a reason to be insulted by this record? I as a fan am insulted, and by coinsidence I am European.
This is the second time someone with poop in his eyes starts this shit again.

Jay is big all over Europe now probably, so stop this nonsens, or first read the shit written here before.

The real Europe vs USA smutfest went down on the Goner and was a nice display of genetic American fascism. Or protectionism, as it called by Big People. Sorry you missed it.
A shitload of grouphugs by the Rent-A-Homie folks on there. But no need to bring that up again.

The Reatard album is great. I like the vocals. Catchy shit! I like that it's really varied. I really like the guitar sound as well. really good stuff.
