Bloodstains across Yugoslavia
« on: October 04, 2006, 08:01:21 PM »
i downloaded this record. IT STINKS. The prices it gets are UNDESERVED. Do not buy this record. IT STINKS. Pekinska Patka is hardly worth a mention. just cause it is obscure doesn't make it good. DON'T BUY. Just wanted to warn the community before they chucked away their hard earned money on this junk.

Yeah, I've had this compilation for a while now. I think I listened to it like once or twice and that was about it. I remember liking a few of the songs on it...I think?

I like this comp alot actually.  Pekinska Patka are awesome!  It has nothing to do with obscurity... just about every Pekinska Patka song is catchy is hell.

I was trying to collect all of the Bloodstain comps at one point. I kinda gave up after a while though. I've got around 20 of the bloodstained comps total. I'm not sure which ones I'm missing exactly.

Bah! Pekinska Patka is great. I've got a 7" and a boot LP by them. All recommended.

One of my very favorite of the KBD/Bloodstains series. Pekinska Patka were amazing - they went across a lot of styles and did them all well. People always dig this comp when I play it at the hacienda, maybe yer ears are deaf.

I dig Yugo punk a lot...really tough yet catchy thug punk style.

Pekinska rules the roost, but I like the majority of the bands on there.

One of the better Bloodstains series.

I like the Finnish one too, some good poppy punk shit on there...if yer into that kinda shit...Steve?

Definitely a great compilation.

Pekiska Patka is great, but so are the tracks by Prljavo Kazaliste...Pankrti, Paraf. So much good stuff on that comp.

The most underrated volume in the series is the Norway one, hearing the AKUTT INNLEGGELSE tracks (pre-Turbonegro from 1983) made me break out the wallet, although I paid alot less for my mint copy from an ex-band member stash than this copy apparently went for:

The standard of what I think hardcore should sound like: rough, haphazard yet heavy. Someone should give it a stand alone reissue.

This comp is great and that bootleg Pekinska Patka LP with all of their stuff fucking rules.  Most of the songs are great (except for that one ska sounding songs and a few near-misses here or there), but "Bila Je Taco Lepa" is just fucking amazing.

At some point in the kbd era (88-98)  I'm talking early Ingo Eitelbach, pre ebay days, It  was still a bit tough to find some pen pal in Serbia or Croatia for typical Gasoline vs PP or Dogs vs Partibrejkers fair trades. Fortunately I got in touch with a Shakin' Stevens hardcore collector who had been a french Embassy officer in various eastern european countries. He was working in Zagreb and had plenty of time to go record hunting. I sent him a list of stuff to buy for me  and got all the records I needed in less than a year.
Why the first PArtibrejkers LP + 7" (especially with the HOT F.E recommendation that should drive any liberal Byron Coley imitator uh I mean "blogger" bonkers) is not in the Pantheon of Europunk right next to PF COMMANDO and the NASAL BOYS is a mystery to me!
