on one side of a 12" on 45? I thought you could fit about 20 minutes per side on 33!

12" 45 is a kingly format. Under-used - appreciated - sexed.

Exactly roughly how much time in specific can you cram on one of those babies? 18 mins? 21 mins? 19 mins? 48 hrs?

Whoa, sir-- not to be pedantic, but avoiding "cramming" is the whole point here.  Less music means bigger sound at 45; if you're going to start cramming the maximum on, you're best going to 33 instead.  At 9 minutes a side, properly cut, this could sound killer.  At 33, you can go around 21 a side before you start losing sound quality, but that's all dependent on how bass-heavy the music is (bass means wider grooves means less music if you want it to sound fat and deep), how good a job the cutting engineer does etc.

Kevin, don't be a tard. I'm talking about the whole record.

9 Mintues a side = 18 mintues, give or take a few. I mean, exactly how much can be fit? I know roughly, just wondering. And it's minutes, goddamnti.

You can fit about 32 minutes on one side of a 12" at 33 but the loss of sound quality is very noticable. With 45 on 12" You can fit about 18 minutes per side, again with fucked sound quality. Simon is correct on what you should do.

As far as 7" I did that Josh Reynolds 7" with 12 minutes on each side at 33. It sounds distorted thanks to the high quality work at Aardvark. The loss in sound quality should have resulted in quietness and some muffling, not distortion. You can do 5 min on 45. Again you would be stupind to.

3:30 is ideal at 45. 4:30 acceptable. 5 min ideal at 33, 6 acceptable.
