Jelly's in Pearl City usually has a copy of one of the Waikiki Surf Battle lps for 25 bucks in crappy shape- it's pretty good and totally teenage.
Eat Korean BBQ. Eat Poke. Don't get busted buying weed in Waikiki.
The giant Waikiki buffets like Todai are nuts - prime rib, lobster, crab, steak, and more sushi / sashimi than you know what to do with. Usually like $30 and worth it. Surprisingly good quality. Sushi in Hawaii is awesome.
Kailua is 30 minutes from Downtown, 45 minutes from the North Shore, and you should get up and check out some other spots. Hanauma Bay / Sandy Beach on the East Side, North Shore, Chinatown, & Downtown...
Hungry Ear Records in Kailua has good records.
Go to the Friends Of the Library sale at the Kailua Library if you're actually spending time in Kailua. Cheap-ass books. Got the International New Wave Discography here for a buck. Usually good biographies.
Nobunny played at the Next Door on Hotel Street. Hotel Street has been a traditionally sleazy street in Chinatown and still has the flavor even though it's been cleaned up a lot. Still prostitutes and lowlifes scurrying around. Worth walking down to see the effects of Ice on a person's complexion and disposition.
http://nextdoorhnl.com/nobunny-at-nextdoor/Probably worth checking with Jet Setter Productions, looks like they set up the show. I think they flew the Mean Jeans in, too. Hawaii loves Jawaiian and pop punk. Not much you can do about that.
Pretty much any bar called CLUB ____ is a Korean hostess bar. Club Office and Club Nothing were my favorite names. Dives but not necessarily fun.
Las Marianas Yacht Club & Marina... last tiki bar on Oahu and pretty cool & used to be weird enough. Looks like they cleaned it up, but if you're into cheesy Hawaiian / Tiki stuff it should be fun.
Banzai Rocks Skatepark & Kapolei skatepark are all right.
That's my tips. Have fun. Eat plate lunches. Eat more poke.
