The most offensive part about Burger is the fact they are flooding the market. I would probably love this record if I didn't, y'know, like good PUNK.

OK. Now I know you are kidding.
HA!

Is there a dick in my brain or is everyone missing the obvious?  Burger Records is something worth bitching about for the plain and simple reason that they are STYLE/SUBSTANCE POACHERS.  They invest NOTHING into ANYTHING.  Wow, they put on SHOWS.  BIG DEAL DUMBASSES.  I can PUT ON A SHOW for free too.  I can also release a zillion cassettes a year for $100 for 100 copies.  WHOA MAN, HOW ARE WE GOING TO MAKE THAT $$$$$ BACK?!!!  They bank on labels like me putting out good shit on ACTUAL VINYL and ACTUALLY GIVING A FUCK...ACTUALLY TAKING A RISK...and then they go behind my back (and tons of other labels' backs too) and just swoop in AFTER A BAND GETS POPULAR and asks them directly if THEY WANNA DO A TAPE VERSION ON BURGER.  It's a lame move because it makes the entire substance of "Burger Records" basically being some retarded glorified TAPE COLLECTOR who collects OTHER PEOPLES RELEASES onto a few tapes and then calls themselves a fucking label.  Give me a break.  They MIGHT be changing their "business model" now....now that they've sold 2,500 KING TUFF REISSUED TAPES....but this model I described is pretty much the ESSENCE and the CORE of what the fuck BURGER "RECORDS" (HOLY FUCK, CAN I GET EXTRA QUOTES WITH THAT>>???????!!!) actually was.  I really don't care that someone releases a ton of tapes...but that;s not what this is.  This is straight up taking credit for everyone elses good taste/sense of what the fuck is going on...then paying some measly investment and treating EVERYTHING like a minor task to get done with NO LOVE FOR IT.  Its like a race to get tapes done....like they are little scene cred points.  "Oh cool, got another point for being on top of that trend now!"  TAPES ARE FINE.  JUST FIND YOUR OWN BANDS, RECORD NEW MUSIC, MAKE NEW ART, AND PROMOTE IT YOUR GOD DAMN SELF YOU FUCKING CA FAGGOT LEECHES.
I wish you were standing in front of me so I could beat the ever loving piss out of you right now. Motherfucker you are one to talk. How about not responding to emails and being a bitch and going back on deals you made with other labels? You are the biggest shithead in the business. FUCK YOU!!!!!!!!! You know nothing about Burger records or really anything else. You are a rich kid who got lucky with some releases and that's it.

EAT A FOSSILIZED DINOSAUR DICK!!!!!!!

I already fucking explained to you before that TODD WENT AHEAD AND PRESSED THAT LENGUAS LARGAS LP WITHOUT TELLING ME and THEN SENT THE BILL.  I PAID HIM BACK.  WHAT THE FUCKIN HELL.  ALSO...get your fucking facts straight.  Call my credit card company and ask them how rich I am....a rich kid doesnt have like $15,000 in ALL LABEL RELATED DEBT.  But thats how I roll to make shit happen.  Ask them how much I owe to them.  Ask my wife why I can't ever buy shit because everything I scrimp out of my life goes into putting out quality releases I care about.  Ask Todd if I paid him back.  THEN COME ON HERE AND REPORT YOUR FINDINGS.

I AM ONE TO TALK ABOUT THIS because they poach a ton of my shit.  The same shit I am in debt for producing in the first place, is that shit they make cassettes a dime a dozen of.  I know enough about Burger Records to know that bands keep emailing me with the same line of, "hey burger wants to do a tape...." and that when I ask them to TELL BURGER RECORDS TO CONTACT ME ABOUT IT they never do....then...eventually I just say fuck it do it.

For those of you who are unaware of what is going on here...Mr. BEEF has forced y hand into revealing a bunch of bullshit info to cleAR THE fart air.  Mr. Beef is the guitarist of Isaac's band, LENGUAS LARGAS.  I contacted Isaac and we did a 7".  Then we were slated to do an LP.  Then TODD from RECESS RECORDS contacted them and wanted to put it out.  We all agreed it would be a cool co-release and then NOTHING REALLY HAPPENED AT ALL....LIKE FOREVER.  Suddenly, the bill comes.  I thought I'd ACTUALLY BE INVOLVED IN THE PRESSING seeing as YOU KNOW....I AM A LABEL DOOOOOINGGGG ITTTTTT.  But no.  Just a "hey its out now!  Heres the bill!!!"

Needless to say, I DIDNT EXPECT THAT.  Since Todd did it on his timeframe, I figured it wasnt too big of a deal if I paid him back on mine.  And I DID PAY HIM BACK.  For some reason Mark Beef has a massive stick up his ass for me taking a long time to pay back a dude who basically jumped in and took control of it and left me in the dark about things.

I went to a Sxsw showcase of Burger Bands to drink free booze and do free drugs. All provided for by these people who when offering me a button got told off by me. Dude just rolled with it like a champ and offered me another beer. That's all I pretty much care about. The bands suck, buying tapes is ridiculous unless they are to make your own,and complaining about this label is like bitching about YouthAttack.

Also Recess records is still around?

Terminal Boredom rules.

Tell your friends.

Give a penny, take a penny.

amirite TTTTTTTTTT???

More like give a penny, take a penny, give back two pennies.  In every stack of "late orders" there are a bunch of people who filed some kind of Paypal claim and got their money back already thinking I was never gonna send it or something (even tho people usually know im slow as shit).  I don't really check who those people are and I just send all the shit like I wuz gonna anyways.  It's kinda whatever.  You'd be amazed how many internet bitches dont make a peep when they get a boatload of free records in the mail.  Or contact the label wanting to pay me for the shit they stole from me basically (which is what that essentially boils down to).  I'm just sayin, yall can think you know what the fuck is up....but you dont know shit.

That's not what I was referring to, but yr response still speaks volumes.

I couldn't care less about any of this shit honestly. Not that I think yr points aren't valid. They are.

But really, in the end, this thread has just made me hungry. Who wants to get some sliders?

yeah why would you care what some guys are doing in fucking Fullerton if you're like an adult anywhere else in the Universe??? Those guys are fine. I have some burger tapes--when my band stayed at their house they just gave us all of them and when we played their store a year or two later they just let us pick out whatever ones we wanted for free. That's cool with me and isn't confusing, because tapes are still cheap to make. and they're cool, ipod boomboxes are quiet and it's stupid to bring an expensive thing with you somewhere like the beach so why not bring a tape player and why not listen to the Quick on it? I don't get the backlash against tapes in general. pretty sure no band i'm ever going to like is ever going to be some "cassette" band (???) and it's not like the people I know with cars have nice cars so why can't I listen to a goddam tape in car? Or in my room, as I am wont to do when cleaning it. It's not like these guys are in any way ripping anyone off at any level and they have a sick record store with good-ass prices. I dunno why but I get really confused when people hate burger, yeah cute shit is dumb but you guys liked the vivian girls for goddsake

you are totally correct about ipod boom boxes and old cars, and obviously i support and profit from the tape resurgence to some extent, just wanted to add that a tape adapter is available at discount stores for $5 to connect any mp3 player to any cassette deck.

fuck buying an mp3 boombox, i went to the thrift store and got an 80s cassette boombox for $3, nobody would steal it, who cares if it breaks?  been using it all summer, bringing it all over with me, loud as hell.

same goes for a car stereo.  why would i buy a new radio when i can rock the one it came with from the factory 20 years ago and crank my mp3s through those factory speakers via cassette adapter???

best of both worlds, and i still make comp tapes off vinyl and buy new and used tapes regularly.

I don't hate Burger, that's just some silly shit for kidz.  It's just goofy that peepl like tapes now, 'cos they were never any good in the first place.  It'z LOLz to me IMHOMO that the market for "indie" tapez is ten times bigger now than it was twenty years ago, when tapes actually existed and normal human beings with normal lives played 'em 'cos they couldn't afford CDs or CD playaz in they carz, and musicians couldn't afford to make CDs for cheep.  That's what tapes was in 1992, FYU.

or 2002 if you were me or any of my friends.  first time i could afford a computer and get on the internet was 2004...
