Nik Turner from Hawkwind played 1234 Go last night to kick off their US tour. It was fucking awesome. Do yourself a favor and go see them. They played for a pretty long time, almost all Hawkwind hits you'd wanna hear. They played two new songs that fit pretty seamless with the rest of the set.

Good news, though I'm so fucking busy these next few weeks that I dunno about a Sunday bar show...it's definitely cool that it's at Cactus here and at other rock/punk clubs that are on the Termbo circuit instead of the shitholes I expected.

Also, had tickets to the Dave Brock Hawkwind, but since the cancellation of that tour, will have to wait until next spring apparently.

Cleveland show is 23rd at NTC

I saw him play at End of an Ear over SXSW this year...was just scheduled to do a meet and greet/signing, but he and his band showed up and tore through a few classics--Orgone Accumulator, Master of the Universe, etc. It was real good. Can't expect the guy to perform like he's 30 or whatever, but he's definitely still got it. He signed my copies of Hall of the Mountain Grill and In Search of Space, "Stay high, Nik Turner."

I was all geared up to make the 4 hour drive to DC to see Hawkwind this week. Oh well. I guess I'll go see Nik Turner's thing again in November in Raleigh.

They are now also playing Nov 16 at The Satellite (formerly Spaceland) in LA.  Very excited about this.
