Sukebe, do they have any record shops in HCMC now? There weren't any while I was there, but there was a second hand street in district 3 where you could sometimes(VERY rarely) find records.

This is my favorite in Bangkok. I dig the Mo Lam and Luk Thung stuff, and Zudrangma's reissues are great. Ask the dudes if there are any good shows going on while you are there. Also ask them if, when, and where Mo Lam djs are spinning in town if you're interested.

Another interesting record shop and cassette label is Triple Six. It's all metal, focusing on Asian metal of all kinds (mostly shitty, but some gems). The owners are very cool. http://www.triplesixthailand.com/

Bangkok is an all around awesome city. I recommend going to the outskirts of the town, whichever way by bus or boat and just walking around checking shit out.

Tran quang khai, behind tan dinh market and down it a bit, you can find cool old stuff even though the records are scarce.  I saw those high end stereo stores too! who is buying that shit?
