NHL / Fantasy Hockey Thread - 2017/2018

New season starts Oct. 4th! Sort of snuck up on me this year.

Who's in for Fantasy Hockey? We had a solid 8 last year. Jer can't do it this year, but I might have someone to take his place. Any newcomers want to join?

Matt and I were thinking of raising the buy in to $25US. And then have prize money for both regular season and playoffs. Also, move the finals week to the 2nd last week of the season instead of the last as so many stars get rested. Any thoughts?

And Sunday Oct. 1st at 5pm PST / 8pm EST for the draft?

I'm a new guy here but I'm a big fantasy hockey nerd. I'd love to join as long as the buy-in isn't too much. 25 is a little steep but I'd be down, just gotta sell some indie rock records I don't like anymore. What was the previous buy-in? Either way I'm up for it.

It was $20 last year. We might need one new person. I'll keep you posted.

Would be nice to have at least 8 teams again this year.

Here's the stat categories we've been running with:

Forwards/Defensemen: Goals (G), Assists (A), Plus/Minus (+/-), Penalty Minutes (PIM), Powerplay Points (PPP), Shots on Goal (SOG)

Goaltenders: Wins (W), Goals Against Average (GAA), Save Percentage (SV%), Shutouts (SHO)

Open to getting rid of PIMS and +/-, maybe replacing them with 'Faceoffs Won', 'Game-Winning Goals' or some other stat.

I'm in but I'll be cutting it close for that draft time - I have my local league's live draft that day at 6 EST and it takes about 3 hours -

6pm PST / 9 EST on Sunday works for me. Others OK with that too?

I'd vote for keeping the same stats. I'm too lazy to start worrying about new ones!
