Kid bands

Here's a topic that I've long found intersting but can't find much information on. Most searches in this vein turn up music for kids, but rarely music made by kids (even though some of the former can be awesome too). I certainly don't want this to come across as creepy or misguided, or to veer into that territory; however, there's something genuinely pure and oftentimes unrefined about music made by those less experienced or jaded by the codified strictures of adulthood. The early Redd Kross recordings, for instance, are some of my favorite punk records. The Prats are pure exuberance.

I posted a song on FB last night by family band Unit 3 and Venus, featuring an eight-year-old singer wailing about her distaste for beer, and user Arturo tipped me off to this great-looking comp:

Of course, there's Mad Society and Old Skull.

Jr. and His Soulettes' "Momma Love Tequila" is certainly one of the best songs ever recorded. The rest of the record ain't too bad either.

Some of the 60's garage reissues that Norton has done, like the U-Turns and Purple Majesty are brilliant.

What else is there?

kevin, when's the Sadie record coming out?

Not sure how I forgot one of my favorite WTF shit-fi records, "Do You Wanna Dance?" by The Silver.

Got turned onto DeathKids via John Olson's 'Life Is a Ripoff' book. 10- and 12-year-olds playing death metal (with the help of their dad). CD-only, unfortunately, and not a cheap CD either.

Red Kross and Old Skull are the first two that popped into my mind. Frankie Lymon and The Teenagers?

International hit too. I was around 9/10 yrs old when it came out and still living in Honduras at the time and it got tons of airplay there.
