This just popped up on Sorry State: https://www.sorrystaterecords.com/blogs/news/record-of-the-week-no-puberty-compilation-lp

"Unofficial compilation of late 70s and early 80s punk tracks, all of which are by bands with teenage members, and with most of the bands featuring pre-teens, the youngest being a mere 8 years old."

Solid comp. Lots of great stuff I hadn't heard. Recommended.

ive played at rock camp for girls a few times now for the kids on their lunch break. all aged 5 - 15. the songs some of these kids come up with are pure diy madness. throw em on a hyped to death comp and theyd blend right in.

its on the same "back from the grave" cd that has Jesters of Newport "stormy" on it.  I think the singer is like 10 years old or something.

the clip from that chicago band Verboten from 1983 fuckin rules!  what a great video.

Child Abuse had an 11 year old drummer, the band with the 7? on Mutha. Russ who later went on to Underdog was in the band, his brother Dean was the kid drummer. They used to gig with my local faves Cyanamid pretty often.

The 7? is what it is but I used to have a tape of them playing live on Monmouth College?s radio station that sounded much better. I think the show was hosted by a member of Existential Moped (psych punk noise drone stuff) After they played they accidentally backed up over parking spikes at the college parking lot and wound up abandoning there car their for awhile. The radio station itself burned down not long after this and was never rebuilt. If anyone has a copy of that performance share it with the world.

Funniest thing is that Bobby from Chronic Sick was commissioned to write this song!

Donnas were like 16 when first LP came out.

But fuck this, IN THE WOMB bands. If you weren't punk before you were born, you never were.
