Cheap Time "Handy Man" 45 -

"Handy Man" is great, but the b-side "Wildlife" - HOLY SHIT!!!! I was a fan of the first Cheap Time single, but I'm on board the Cheap Time hype wagon in a big way now!!!! Damn, what a catchy song!

Yeah, I've been a fan of that one for a long time.

Especially when the Quick released it and called it 'Play Time.'

Oh hush. Don't you have a "classy" MOR record waiting for you to sploodge over or something?

All I can say for the people who profess to ?love? the albums this band shamelessly rips note-for-note is that it must a very special kind of joint-custody relationship you enjoy with your record shelves.  Alimony payments to Greg Lowery are a bitch.

And no one suffers more than the children!!!

i really dont want to cause any trouble. theyre my friends and i like the band but it really does bother me how closely the songs border on plagiarism. most people who buy the album wont catch it at all probably but fans of the bands will know.

i felt the same way when they redid red kross songs.

theres a few milk n cookies rips as well. "rabbits make love" is one of the more obvious ones.

i really love alot of the bands they site as influences and i just wish someone would use them as an influence without directly copying parts of the songs. if they were on a major label they would surely be in hot water.

I'm working all night on artwork.
Various posters and singles, LP sleeves.

Friday fun.

Anyway...

Easter Monkeys "Splendor of Sorrow" LP
This is a really great record, but that dirgey Crampsian "My Baby Digs Graves" is sub-par. Why?

Comateens "S/T" LP
Maybe the best bang-for-the-buck LP from the No Wave/Synth NYC scene from the 80's. As good as Dark Day and way cheaper.]]Modify: there are some DUDS on here.

Music of Bali 2xLP
Is anyone's collection safe from the appearance of the gamelan by the time they're in their late 20's? Maybe Collin's.

Chamaleon Church LP
Baroque psych with Chevy Chase (yeah, that one) on drums. He even sings a cut. Some really good Left Banke-ish stuff and some sub-par filler.
