New Arnaut Pavle is black metal of the year, followed closely by either Kommodus or Hagzissa. New Antichrist Siege Machine absolutely pummels too, they’re in a bill with Spite and a bunch of other bands next month in seattle. Something to look out for all pnw heshers.

Very good mid paced DM with great atmosphere and near perfect solo tone, from the drummer for Domains

Teitanblood was cool, but that band isn't the second coming a lot of people make them out to be. New Nekro Drunkz is great deaththrash. Uhhh, I guess that's it

I have a huge metal friend in Osaka who seems to buy every single metal release and all genres but has never delved into these groups who I consider wildly more inventive and just fun to listen to than the bulk of contempo metal...Maybe too far on the "prog/krautrock" end to be considered metal? PO is touring with Sleep...

Never found NWN! to be all that racist.  Sure, there was an element, but I always found it pretty easy to ignore.  You have to be able to do that if you’re going to hang around metal boards and not lose your mind.
