...bearing in mind that, with the exception of the Toxic State stuff and a couple other random exceptions, there isn't a lot in the way of guitar-based music that really excites me these days or propels me to want to keep up*.

*said while playing in two relatively straight-forward hardcore bands ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Don't really consider her mainstream, but I think she's one of the most interesting and rewarding artist operating on the level that she's at. Some of the videos that have come out of the new album are also really unique and beautiful.
