Closet Mix are indie-rock veterans of bands such as Great Plains, Log, Peck of Snide, Van Echo, Vena Cava, etc. They proudly call Columbus, Ohio their home. It would be romantic to think of them as “survivors,” but in reality, they’re just stubborn midwesterners who refuse to stop making music. Van Echo includes long-time members of both the Columbus and Cincinnati, Ohio indie-scenes, having previously served in bands such as Ass Ponys, Middlemarch, Black Owls, Red Skylark, the Ronald Koal Band, etc. They rehearse and record in the subterranean pleasure plaza of one member’s Newport, KY home. Members = Randy Cheek, Brian Kitzmiller, Wesley Pence, and Ed Shuttleworth.
