What would you recommend to someone who thinks A Handfull of Dust is great?  Saki's pretty good, and Wodehouse, but he's kind of a one-trick pony.   Any suggestions?

Kyril Bonfiglioli. 'All the Tea in China'. Or 'The Mortdecai Trilogy' (three books, there's a volume that compiles them all). Might be tough to find though. More Wodehouse than Waugh though. But damn good.

Any good biographies floating around out there lately?

'The Ghastly One' - great bio of Andy Milligan (obscure grindhouse/weirdo/sleaze filmmaker/playwright) by Jimmy McDonough that brings the subject above fandom and makes it a real expose of NYC eccentricity. (JM also wrote Shakey and a great Russ Meyer bio).

i just read the knife man.  a great autobiography of a whacko/innovative surgeon John Hunter in the theodoric of york era.  the best stories are about what surgery was before he was around.  i was blown away that the old steve martin SNL barber of york skit was damn near spot on.  also the bodysnatching tales were great.

"The Bottoms" by Joe R. Lansdale.  Excellent.
And he brought home the bacon so that no one knew.

If you got any tips for bios on weird genius, I'll happily take those too.  Are there any good, young sci-fi writers out there nowadays?  All my sci-fi is the old shit.

Can anyone recommend a website with a decent amount of complete texts of short stories?

Great. And each short story you steal off the internet means one more bookseller goes homeless. Fucking crusty punk.

Just finished Nostalgia by romanian writer Mircea Cartarescu. Everybody needs to read this. Kafka meets Proust meets mental sickness meets transgender psychopathy meets Gombrowicz.
