1st !!! 7" from before they left Sacto was actually pretty damn good. And they were a really good live show then, too! Memories of Yah Mos shows, however, still remain important benchmarks when I evaluate the live shows I've seen since.

I was at that show. Stuck around til almost 3 AM and finally left and heard Le Shok finally showed up right after that abd played like 5 songs with a reduced line-up. Everyone was going apeshit for !!! that night but I just couldn't really get into it. I like my white-boy funk a little more Contortions-esque cuz I'm a nervous norvus.

Yah Mos rule. Actually think This Moment in Black History sound a lot like them, but not on purpose cuz those guys didn't know that shit, although I think I ended up playing Buddy some, cuz his guitar style is very similiar.

didn't read any of this thread cos you guys are boring Last Sons of Kypton faggots..... picked up the new 7" a few days ago.  listened to it a few times....i'm into it.  the b side is def the rager.  does anyone else feel bad for listening to all this guys bands/records and loving em so much while also knowing he is such a fucking ass hole?  i do.  I also love drinking beer, doing massive amounts of blow and watching superbad and the trailer park boys locked in my room alone.....

 It's ridiculous to even consider Jay finding the kind of mainstream success that would end up with him on a show like TRL but really, the guy already is getting pretty huge and it looks like he's only going to gain popularity. Then again I look at a band like Guided By Voices and in my opinion their level of success seems pretty fucking huge to me and that's about the level I think Jay will eventually get to, but no larger.
 Also, just picked up the first single on Matador and though I really like it the signature Reatard meanness/nastiness/venom is pretty nonexistent on the 2 songs on the record. I mean the songs come off as very nice in mood and feeling. I was just wondering if the songwriting on the record was consciously written like that to appeal to the masses or if these songs just came out like that...
