Yeah, I just found a Sparks video, a Hawkwind video, and a three part Beefheart bio.  Haven't watched any of 'em yet as I'm listening to a download of the Old Man's radio show (the 10" themed one).

YouTube bumped my video collection up to 700, which is insanity.  I just burned 7 DVD's full of videos... can't wait to watch 'em.

Paul,
we've tried on both PCs and macs to get the files to download, and can't get it to work. Getting an error message that says we need to update Real Player and the newest version is the one we've got. Tried it on three different machines! I know you're supposed to change the files to .flv (which is a flash extension?) so even tried a flash player and couldn't get it to work. What are you using to play them on?
....than again, i already spend waaaay too much time 'stuck in the tube' as it is.

and I haven't forgot about the trade.

Okay, here's what ya do (For PC): First, go to the link below & download Cinemaforge.  It's a small program, free, and no restrictions.  Totally easy to use as well.

Once you have that, find the video you want to download & copy the link, go here: http://javimoya.com/blog/youtube_en.php & paste it in the text box under "Insert URL for YouTube video you want to download". 

Click the "Download from YouTube" button, and the text box should clear & a link saying "Video Download" should show up at the top of the page.. Right click on the link & "Save Target As..."  Move the "Save as type" to "All Files" & and enter a description for the video followed by ".flv".  Click "Save".

Now, open up Cinemaforge... Click the little folder icon next to "Input File" and find & select the video you just downloaded.  Click the "Doc Type" icon & select "MPEG".  Click the "Encode" button & voila!

I probably made it sound more complicated than it is.. Just wanted to give you a detailed explanation.  Hope it works.

can you/should you mess with the video and audio options? bitrates and the mono/stereo options? 

when i do, the conversion fails


i also dont have the 'all files' option, it just automatically is a photoparade document.  that doesnt seem to matter, though.

I was reading thru this thread and I saw quite a few posts about how people wanted The Saints video off from www.youtube.com. I'm the person that uploaded the video and you could contact me via AIM if you'd like me to send it to you.

If you happen to not have AIM, it doesn't matter. I also have Trillian which will let me send it to basically any type of the instant messengers (yahoo, msn, IRC...).
