So, lately I've watched two movies: Strange Brew and La Dolce Vida. The latter took me more than one sitting to get through, but after finishing it I can safely say that Fellini is tres overrated. Did the movie look beautiful? Yes. Were the characters intriguing? Yes. Was the soundtrack great? Yes. Was there a plot? No fucking way, unless you want to count Marchello (sp?) wandering from party to party and generally being a dick to everyone. The stuff with Steiner was interesting, but it's too bad that it ultimately leads up to nothing but MORE PARTYING. I can see the argument that this movie is more about the main characters emotional and moral state, and how the liner progression of a usual plot is replaced by the story of his regression as a human being. Okay, I get that. Fellini could have made that point in a regular two hour movie and cut out a few of the party/debauchery scenes. But no, instead he just inundates the viewer with endless scenes that ultimately go nowhere featuring characters that never get fleshed out enough for me to actually care what happens to them. He obviously was a very talented director, but based on this movie he had no sense of how to tell an actual story. This movie is just a collection of pretty shots that ultimately leads nowhere. AND IT TAKES OVER THREE FUCKING HOURS TO GO THERE. In the immortal words of Men on Film, HATED IT.

Strange Brew was of course great. Even funnier than I remembered it being.

I watch "Project Runway" and that Real World/Road Rules Challenge thing.  Why?  Because they rule.

What Real World/Road Rules Challenge is this? The only one I watched was the one with John Brennan and Neal on it. It ruled when Neal went to boot camp.

I haven't watched a seson of the Real World after season five, but man was season five ever awesome. Season two is of course the best of all of them though.

watched sat night live 25th anniversary and got bored so had to shut it off.  watched the breakfast club and was surprised at how much they leave out of it, even when its shown on cable...  also watched one of those 9/11 conspiracy movies and was less than overwhelmed by the "evidence" they presented

I've been watching you, Steve. I am in the bushes outside and I have a night scope. My pants are off and so are yours. You look good, young man. You look real good.

Wow, you're peeping in the bushes and messageboarding at the same time? That's what I call multi-tasking.

Real World/Road Rules Challenge is some of the worst television I have ever seen.

I watched some British movie about a severely obsessive-compulsive man with Tourettes whose life basically disintegrates for 90 minutes. It was pretty damn funny, sorta touching at times. Forget the name. Also been watching Canadia's own "Trailer Park Boys," also funny but not that touching, except when Bubbles got his own place.

I watched two old friends do V.U., Stooges, and Dead Boys covers in a garage while I played rythym guitar and wondered, "why am I hanging out with these guys?"
Then I went home and watched a documentary about Jamestown.

Last night I watched Freeway. If you havent seen it, do not let the names Reese Witherspoon and Kiefer Sutherland scare you away. It is a great, dark, funny flick. Sutherland is both very funny and very creepy.

Night before we watched Bullitt and Four Brothers. Bullitt is fucking great. I've seen it a bunch and always enjoy it. The chase scene always gets pimped and it is an amazing scence, especially when you consider that alot of it was filmed in real time (yeah over three weeks) and it stretches from Bernal Heights to the Marina and then down the coast. They charted that one good. And Mc Queen does all his own driving...Before that we watched Four Brothers which could have been an alright violent revenge fantasy b movie but it got Hollywooded out and had to have the fake morality and cornball shit woven in. A waste of a rental.

Todd, I think the movie yer talking about is called Filthy Dirt Love or somethin like that...it was pretty decent.

I saw King Kong last Friday...not as bad as I thought I would be....way too fuggin long though

Watched Battle Royale on Saturday and while a great movie, it confirmed to me that Japs are some cwazy fuckers.

Freeway was ok, kind of a modern twisted version of Little Red Riding hood....cameltoe.

I watched Kung Fu Hustle on X-Mas eve with my nephew who got it for me as a gift. I had to pretend I liked it, but I really thought it was just so-so. The warner brothers cartoon looking stuff was way too zany for my taste and the chick with the rollers in her hair was just repugnant.

I also watched some of the TV show "Arrested Development" with him since he got it as a gift. I haven't watched sitcom made in the past 10 years all the way through before, so I was plesantly surprised at how funny it was.

Also, I know this technically doesn't count, but I played a lot of this Star Wars combat game I bought for the same nephew with him. I've totally forgotten how to play video games.
