I was expecting the Slade film to be better than it was, but it was still cool.  I got so many fucking DVDs for Christmas that I don't know what to watch first.  I managed to go through the entire third season of "Kids in the Hall" and part of the first season of "The Monkees" in one night.  Fell asleep during "Soylent Green" last night because I was full of food and lazy.  Tonight will be an extra-special viewing of "Barbarella" and some H.G. Lewis flicks.

The only dvd set that I got for Christmas that won't be returned is Family Guy, vol 3. I don't usually watch tv unless I turn it on right before I'm going to bed anyway. I felt like crap yesterday though since I finally got the last of my wisdom teeth pulled, and did watch a few movies. Nothing new, just old favorites. "Nothing But Trouble", "The Jerk", and "The Three Amigos."

I got Seinfeld seasons 5 & 6 for Xmas from my moms, the collection is near completion. Some of my favorite episodes are in these two sets, plus it's got some great commentaries.

I also picked up Standing In The Shadows Of Motown on DVD in a bargain bin for $3. Really good documentary on Motown and the studio musicians who played on all the hit records.

I've also been watching Chappelle Show season 2 (haha) and the Suicide Girls Tour (hubba hubba).

I've ignored both for a long time but I finally watched True Romance and The Grifters.  I liked both.  Patricia Arquette is so fucking hot.

Anybody watch the first part of that Frontline two part documentary/special last night on public television?  They follow two teens in the mountains of West Virginia trying to make it through high school and life in general?  One kid, when he was twelve, had a dad that shot his stripper mom with a highpower assult rifle in the club she worked at before turning it on himself.  The kid said his dad turned him on to metal when he bought him a Metallica cd when he was eleven.  Now he does Christian death metal at fifteen or something.  Practices with his band in a trailer.  He played a song about his dad shooting his mom.  Woah.

Yeah! I loved that show... super creepy and very well-done. Too bad no-one remembers it. It's not out on DVD, is it? I remember it was produced by Shaun Cassidy and the kid who played the lead was a really good actor.

Ghostbusters Box Set and Back To The Future Box Set!  All in a row.  Straight through.  Didn't know that Michael J. Fox wasn't the first choice for Marty.  The poor dear only slept for an hour a night on average (i'm assuming that he actually calculated) between this role and that of Alex Keaton.  There was this ska band called Flux Skapacitor when i still lived in Fargo.  They sucked.

Yeah, the whole series is complied into one 3xDVD set. I saw it at the store the other day which was why I asked. I really can't remember it, but I am pretty sure I watched it...

I wish to the high holy elder gods someone would release ALex Winter's 'Idiot Box' on DVD. Does anyone remember this MTV skit show? Fuckin Eddie the FLying Gimp, and Lockjaw, and 'Damn These Eyes!' SOmetimes I feel like I'm the only person who watched it. That and 'Austin Stories.' Back when MTV had good shows (like early Liquid Television).
