If I go to Oakland, I'll for sure hit one of those places up. Is there a reason why you aren't a fan of any SF BBQ? A lot of the places I was looking at on Yelp didn't seem too great. The last thing I want is food poisoning.

Also, gonna be with the immmediate family. Besides the park, beach, and Exploratorium, what are some good FAMILY FRIENDLY things/places/activities?

I just haven't ever had BBQ in SF that was worth shouting about.  Da' Pit on Divisadero is OK, I guess, but it won't blow you away.  There's just way more and way better options for BBQ in Oakland.

SF Zoo is pretty cool and located a few blocks from Ocean Beach.  You could probably kill a whole afternoon with that plan.  Hitting a Giants game is always great too.

Gorilla BBQ is the best BBQ in the Bay. But it's in Pacifica

Grass Roots is my preference but only because I live near it.

I thought the BBQ place inside of Golden Gate Park (at the golf course) was pretty decent

Mitch, have you tried B-Side BBQ? I thought the pulled pork was pretty good, but I'm sure it was rather pricey.

BBQ and/or any southern style food in the bay area doesn't compare to the south (and it can be ridiculously expensive)

SF Zoo sounds good. We'll for sure go there. Everyone but me will be going to a Giants game the first night. I'll probably hit up Grass Roots during that time, hit a nug, walk around the city, buy records, and other bullshit. What shows are going on this Tuesday?

I need another burger recommendation as well. Already been to Super Duper and Pearl's. Both sucked.

I've been into the burger at Southern Pacific Brewery, bacon bleu cheese burger.

Also into the one at Little Griddle on Market St on my way to work sometimes.

I came up from LA for the S-S thing and was really surprised by how few weed shops there are in SF.  I walked around the area of the Hemlock for a couple hours and never found one.  In LA there's a dispensary every hundred yards so I guess I take that shit for granted.

I think there's more in Oakland, especially since there's an actual area for it -- Oaksterdam.
